EMS Training Officer

Southside Communities Fire Protection, Inc. is now seeking a qualified EMS training officer for a combination Fire (career & volunteer), EMS & Security department. With over 50,000 incoming emergency calls per year, SSFD is a high volume service provider serving individuals in and around Chatham County, Georgia. The EMS Training Officer will plan, coordinate, implement, instruct (or provide instruction) and maintain records for all mandated and/or essential staff development activities, certifications, and classes for all career EMS personnel.

Qualifications

  • Possess an Associate's Degree
  • Certified state of Georgia Paramedic & National Registry of EMT's Paramedic Certification
  • Minimum of two years of post-certification professional experiences
  • Georgia Level III (Paramedic) Instructor License required.
  • ITLS or PHTLS Instructor, BLS and ACLS Instructor, PALS, EPC or PEPP Instructor.

Duties

  • Ensures that educational opportunities exist and assist in the maintaining of records for each employee to confirm compliance with all certifications and classes mandated by Southside Fire/EMS, State and/or Federal agencies
  • Coordinates the orientation of new personnel with the Human Resources Department
  • Provides recertification training for all National Registered personnel to ensure an active status.
  • Engages in quality assurance remedial training activities.
  • Ensures that educational opportunities exist and assist in the maintaining of records for each employee to confirm compliance with all certifications and classes mandated by Southside Fire/EMS, State and/or Federal agencies
  • Works closely with the medical director regarding medical protocols
  • Provide Training & Educational Opportunities to all staff concerning the completion of all patient care reports. All reports must follow the guidelines based on Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The EMS training officer must possess the ability to generate reports within the department's clinical data systems.
  • Be able to effectively, professionally, and compassionately work with citizens & employees from various backgrounds.
  • The ability to treat, assess, and stabilize patients within the scope of practice governed under Georgia Office of EMS & Trauma
