Chatham Emergency Services currently has an opening for the Deputy EMS Chief Position. Chatham EMS has a fast paced environment. Our services include emergency services for the entire spectrum of Chatham County located in Southeast Georgia. The duties and qualifications are provided below for the position.
Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budget and submits budget request: Tracks EMS Budget Expenditures.
- Day-to-Day Operations
- Liaison between all EMS personnel, community and citizens
- Efficiency and coordination for the appearance, duty assignments and efficiency of all EMS personnel
- Compliance with departmental and state regulations regarding staffing along with equipment
- Oversees the development, documentation and writing of departmental standard operational policy, assures compliance to necessary state regulations and laws
- Provide necessary direction and support to staff for performance of duties
- Regularly inspect EMS equipment and units in compliance with departmental, state and federal regulations
- Processes and reviews personnel actions; assures compliance to established rules and regulations; verifies eligibility for promotion of staff.
- Before accepting newly purchased ambulances or equipment shall have appropriate tests to be made to determine the suitability of such ambulances or equipment for purpose of which acquires
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in the EMS Field
- Valid Georgia Class C License
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Licensed Georgia Paramedic
- Advanced Life Support (ACLS)
- BLS Certifications
- NIMS Compliant (100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800)
- Hazmat Awareness
- College Degree (Desirable)
- County and/or Regional EOC Training
- Professional, Calm & Clear Demeanor under pressure
