Billing/Accounts Payable Specialist

Chatham Emergency Services has an immediate opening for a Billing/Accounts Payable Specialist. Chatham Emergency Services is located in Savannah, Georgia. This position will work closely with both the fire billing department and the accounts payable department. This position is responsible for performing billing and accounts payable functions as it relates to the finance department. 

Responsibilities 

• Manages third-party fire recovery billing information. 
• Inputting data from emergency calls for billing. 
• Responding to customer calls regarding invoices billed. 
• Coding payable invoices, check requests, etc. with correct codes to ensure proper entry into the financial system. 
• Handles all vendor correspondence via phone or email. 
• Prepares check runs and ACH transactions. 
• Assists with monthly status reports, and monthly closings. 
• Ensuring proper documentation is received from vendors in order to process payments
• Maintaining historical records by filling/scanning documents.
• Audit and process credit card bills
• Prepare end of year vendor 1099 reporting.

Job Requirements

• 3-4 years accounts payable or general accounting experience
• Associates and/or Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus
• Quickbooks and/or financial system experience, required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask. 
• Microsoft Excel experience

Education

• High School Diploma or its equivalent
