Billing Generalist

Chatham Emergency Services is looking for an ambitious Billing Generalist to join our team. We are seeking a self-starter who works well in fast paced environment. The minimum will have a minimum of two years' experience with accounts receivable, medical
billing and invoicing, collection experience and take ownership of work output.

Responsibilities

Responsible for payment denial research.
Manage third-party fire recovery billing information.
Inputting data from emergency calls into billing system.
Assist EMS billing in cash application, settlements, and patient payments.
Assist in EMS quality assurance to include monitoring the accuracy of submitted reports and
working closely with third-party billing company.
Responsible for follow-up calls for billing questions
Provide written correspondence to audit requests to include investigation and obtaining of
appropriate documentation.
Assist occasionally internal audits.
Responsible for obtain pre-authorization documents prior to billing
HIPPA compliance by protecting PHI, complying with applicable laws regarding billing standards
Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

1- 2 years of experience in collections and cash applications
2 + years of medical billing experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desire to understand process, identify improvements and implement change.
Ability to multi-task and manage competing requests in a professional manner.
Provide outstanding customer service experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, self-starter and a team player.
Microsoft Office Suite competence.

Preferred Qualifications

High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience in Salesforce
Experience in medical coding
